Our History

A Tradition of Giving. A Future of Hope.

For over 25 years, the Oildale Toy Run has been a beloved Kern County charity, uniting motorcycle riders, local businesses, volunteers, and families with a common goal—to ensure that children and families experience the joy of the holiday season.

What started as a community-driven toy run has blossomed into something much more impactful. Each year, thousands of toys are collected, enduring partnerships are formed, and countless volunteers dedicate their time to make a significant difference in the lives of others. This event has evolved into more than just a ride; it stands as a symbol of generosity, compassion, and the incredible strength of a community working hand in hand.

As our Oildale non-profit organization has expanded, so has our vision.

We’ve recognized that the needs of our community extend well beyond the holiday season. Families face trials throughout the year, presenting numerous opportunities to serve, support, and uplift our neighborhoods every day.

This realization led to the creation of Copes Bridging Hope.

Today, Copes Bridging Hope proudly operates as the nonprofit organization that carries forth the legacy of the Oildale Toy Run while broadening our mission to provide year-round support through community programs, family assistance, volunteer opportunities, fundraising events, and partnerships that enhance the lives of those we serve.

The Oildale Toy Run remains one of our signature annual events and continues to be integral to our identity as a Kern County charity. Its history, traditions, and supporters form the foundation upon which Copes Bridging Hope was established.

Our commitment to community service is unwavering. We believe that communities thrive when individuals come together to help one another.

As we look ahead, we are dedicated to creating new avenues to serve our community while honoring the tradition that sparked it all.

Alongside our volunteers, sponsors, donors, and community partners, we are shaping a lasting legacy of compassion, service, and hope for generations to come.
